*Mr. Cool*Last Friday our little one was three months old!! Wow, the time has really flown by quickly. He has had colic/gas spells since he was about three weeks old, but we really didn't want to admit to ourselves that it was colic. As new parents we just thought he was being "fussy" in the evening. He would cry from around 7p-10p ish. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later, but almost every night of the week he would have a "spell". We didn't notice a pattern until he was about 2 months old. I remember one night he started at 6p and it didn't end until 10:30p. He would take a break for a few minutes then start crying/screaming all over again. For the past 4 weeks it has really peaked to shrill screaming and crying, but he hasn't had a "spell" since last Sunday night!! Hooray!! Could it possibly be easing up?? Time will tell. We feel blessed that this is the only real concern we have as of right now!! I really think it hurts us more to not be able to soothe him, than it hurts him.
We've also been uneasy about his bowel movements. He only poos about every 5 days. He doesn't get fussy, but around the 3rd and 4th day he gets extremely gassy! Not pleasant for mom, dad, and Izzy!! He's a poo stockpiler, once he goes on the 5th day, WATCH OUT!! It fills two diapers. On the bright side there aren't many poo filled reusable diapers to wash!! =)
Moving on to happier things... he now lays under his activity center and plays with the toys dangling above him. He even pulls on one to make it play music!! This week he didn't want to be in his swing at all. He wanted to be under his activity center. Also, we've been reading the baby touch and feel books. He has farm, puppies and kittens, and first words. He loves to feel all the different textures and gets so excited to feel the "cows fur". I love reading to him and seeing his eyes light up and his bright smiles. It's so much fun to have a little one around, even if we have to deal with screams and poo!! =)
